Why This Podcast Exists
At Actions of Compassion, we’re building the company that puts people first in everything we do but not in the way most businesses talk about it.
We don’t believe in outdated leadership frameworks.
We don’t believe in corporate jargon about “employee engagement.”
We don’t believe in shallow culture building strategies.
We believe in real human connection.
That’s why we created The People-Driven CEO Podcast.
Not to talk about leadership strategies.
Not to talk about KPIs.
But to talk about what actually matters: PEOPLE

Shane Jeremy James — Compassionate Leader, Serial Entrepreneur & People-First Business Expert
Shane Jeremy James has always believed that business is about people first. Over his career, he has led teams from over 1,000 people to 70 employees and hundreds of outsourcers, mastering the people side of business.
Shane's entrepreneurial journey started as a child, while other kids asked for toys, he asked for a subscription to Entrepreneur Magazine. His passion for business led him to business college, where he spotted a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: a small U.S. franchise called "Curves for Women."With Indigenous heritage from the Lakota Tribe, Shane raised funds through the Aboriginal Bank of Canada, his mother, and even his college professor to open Canada's first Curves. He quickly rose to the top 10 out of 10,000 franchises, as Curves rocketed to $4 billion in revenue in just 10 years, faster than even McDonald's or Subway.Shane also authored four books — Think, Act, Love, Lose Weight, Networking to Wealth, Prospecting, Closing & Persuasion, and The 63 Day Diet — with widespread media coverage across North America.
Always ahead of trends, Shane brought a U.S. based healthy energy drink to Canada, building and leading a team of 1000 distributors nationwide before the company sold to a more prominent brand. His leadership experience includes building teams of thousands, managing people across multiple industries, and learning to lead through influence, compassion, and strategic vision.
Recognizing social media's potential before most, Shane built a following of over 100,000 on Twitter, selling books and speaking events directly through the platform. He formed a social media marketing team to help businesses scale long before digital marketing became mainstream.Shane's expertise in business and branding led him to work with Kevin Harrington, the original Shark from Shark Tank. He helped build Kevin's personal brand and consulted on various ventures. Shane also played a key role in launching Eckhart Tolle's film Milton's Secret.
While leading successful businesses, Shane never lost sight of his deep desire to improve the world. He launched a compassion movement with a single tweet asking if anyone wanted to join him — and it took off globally. From there, he created "The Everyday Compassion Show," filming 65 episodes across North America and inspiring thousands to perform daily compassionate acts. Realizing compassion could be the missing piece in how we do business, Shane founded Actions of Compassion, a company with a mission to humanize business and put people at the center of every workplace.
Shane's dedication to compassion is deeply rooted in volunteerism. At 18, he volunteered for Ronald McDonald House, a life-changing experience that shaped his worldview. As a Curves owner, he launched annual Thanksgiving food drives, feeding over 300 families yearly. He served on the Food Bank Board and was invited to join the John Volken Foundation board, which was founded by the $200M entrepreneur John Volken. John Volken is a Dalai Lama Humanitarian Award recipient and Shane's mentor for over twenty years.Additionally, Shane became President of the Ridge Meadows Business Association, helping thousands of businesses grow while encouraging them to give back to their communities.
Shane now leads Actions of Compassion Company, where he helps businesses master the people side of business through leadership training, mastermind groups, and compassion-based initiatives. His Advisory Board includes business leaders, Indigenous figures, athletes, teachers, and celebrities — all aligned with the mission to create a world where compassion is at the heart of every community and workplace.
